Since anyone could post ads, there was always a risk of fake, irrelevant, or inappropriate content appearing. But forcing admin approval for every post could slow down genuine users and reduce platform activity.
Collegely introduced an admin toggle system. Platforms can start with strict approvals for safety and later shift to auto-approvals as the community grows. Admins can still review, reject, or delete ads anytime, with clear rejection reasons sent to users.
The client wanted ad pricing to vary by both city and sub-category, even within the same state. Managing multiple pricing combinations manually was complex and error-prone.
Developed a Pricing Master module that automates rate allocation based on city and sub-category. This flexible system allows admins to define unique pricing rules, ensuring accurate and location-specific ad costs without manual intervention.
Competing with established players like Craigslist and OLX made it tough to stand out. Students especially wanted a simple, affordable solution without the clutter of traditional classified sites.
